Beth was a long time member of the SCWTCA Health Committee. She headed up the Informative Family Project which was an integral part of the discovery of the PLN variant gene. Beth worked tenaciously to ensure that the Endowment and Health Committee stay focused on the goal. Highly organized and driven she worked with the University of Pennsylvania and the parent Club as well as with breeders worldwide in promoting Wheaten health. When times were the toughest we could always count on Beth to fight the good fight. Finding the gene was not easy and our path was rocky but because of Beth and Betty the breed is in a much better place than it was in the 1990’s.
