DNA Test Results Rebate Program

We are continuing our DNA Testing Rebate Program, which began in 2022, to fulfill our mission of funding health research focused on issues that affect the health and well-being of the Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier by supporting those who are committed to breeding healthy dogs. Any owner or breeder who submits DNA test results for their Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier to the Database is eligible for a $20 rebate.

The importance of DNA testing of breeding stock and the cost of that testing has been a frequent topic on a SCWTCA online discussion group. The Endowment follows the discussion with great interest so that we can assist breeders and owners with DNA testing their Wheaten Terriers.

We only receive statistics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine about the DNA testing that they perform; we get nothing at all from any other labs. We want to encourage future and past DNA test results to be sent to the SCWT Database for ongoing research and to aid breeders in making informed breeding decisions.
