Elaine Azerolo

Elaine has owned Wheatens for almost 50 years. She had never owned a dog before she married Bob, a dog lover. Soon they were looking for a dog and met a Wheaten at a dog show. Wheatens and dog shows became a lifelong hobby.

In the early 2000s she coordinated organization of clinics across the United States for collection of Wheaten DNA samples for the Canine Phenome Project. That project collected 1100 samples which are stored in the University of Missouri DNA Bank. Those DNA samples have been used in several research projects.

Elaine retired after a 30 year career as a teacher at a suburban St. Louis high school. She is enjoying life with her Wheaten in rural Missouri.
